                                       Testimonials

  • Simon is a great coach! Not only does he know what he's talking about, he's also a fantastic motivator. I like to take my sport very serious yet have fun at the same time and Simon compliments this well. I would highly recommend Simon." Sophie, Physiotherapist
  • "The work Simon has put into structuring my training has seen great results in terms of lowering my PBs and increasing my running capabilities. The schedule he designed was specifically tailored to improve my running, take into account my goals while providing clear explanations why each aspect of my training is important and this has been massively beneficial. Si has been really helpful throughout, and has proven his capacity for knowledge and adaption should the untoward happen, such as injury. The expertise he has gained from being mentored by some of the best in the world and his experience of being an elite athlete means his advice is definitely worth following. I would highly recommend his services!" James, Bio Chemist
  • "Simon has a clear philosophy to his approach as well as the ability to explain all sessions clearly and enthusiastically. Be it strength training, technique appraisals, drills or more traditional speed work, as well as easy runs I’ve always understood what the benefits to me are and how these will improve my running. With three PB’s, two individual prizes in six races under his guidance the results are backing up his approach." Shaun, Phd Student
  • "A coach, a friend, a box full of knowledge! Constant advice, however solid and helpful. Extremely reliable. His training methods and technique analysis has helped me consistently achieve PB's BOOM!" Leodhais
  • "With key changes Si has helped to refocus my approach to training and I now feel on track to achieve my goals for this year. I am now on my second plan after an initial strengthbuilding phase and feel stronger and more consistent in my running" Darryl
  • "Before I met Simon my training was irregular and performances often disappointing. With his coaching I'm comfortably posting times that were previously PB's and continuing to improve. Via solid training plans- tailored specifically to me, and great individual coaching Simon was able to pinpoint my weak areas and highlight where I can improve in both short and long term!" Sparrow
  • "Si has helped me lose weight, get in shape and enjoy running again. His technical knowledge and ability to make training sound normal as well as fun is fantastic. Being coached by Si is worth every penny." Alison- Orthopedic Surgeon
  • "Deciding to start working with Simon has been one of the most important influences on my running and I have seen dramatic results very quickly. Before making that move I was training hard but not intelligently and without Simons knowledge and expertise I would certainly not be performing as well as I am now. Simon has a very personal approach and treats all of his athletes differently working closely to highlight changes in training that can produce the maximum results. Right from the start we sat down and worked out a set of goals and Simon put together a progressive training schedule that has already seen a massive improvement in performance. More than anything the most important factor Simon brings to the partnership is his enthusiasm, it is great to know that you have someone in your corner who has been there and done it before. Just from spending a few months working with him he has highlighted problems in various areas but also suggested progressive solutions to reap maximum benefit. I would wholeheartedly recommend working with Simon to anyone as he does a fantastic job of keeping his you motivated and is always striving to make improvements. Thanks for everything Si, I already feel like a much stronger and better athlete and look forward to seeing how far we can push it in the future." Chris
  • "Having returned to athletics from a six year break, I found myself coachless. I approached Si who agreed to help me regain my former fitness, with a tailored program set around my medium and long term goals I now have structure to my training regime. Si is a dedicated, knowledgable, approachable and selfless coach who understands what an individual needs to achieve their desired goal." Andrew
  • The final award of the night is for the 2014 Member of the Year. This award is made to the member who has made a significant or extraordinary contribution to the Club in the last twelve months. This can either be through racing, coaching and support or club development. The person receiving this award ticks a few of those boxes and more. Firstly I have to say, we are very lucky to have this person as part of Tyne Bridge. Over the last twelve months in particular they have put a huge amount of time and personal effort developing and implementing the training programmes that the majority of us do on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The midweek sessions have been complimented by the Saturday track sessions which have been taken up by more and more members as the year has progressed. This person has also overseen the development of strength and conditioning sessions over the year with early morning and midweek evenings seeing increasing numbers turn up to take part, and see the benefits of incorporating strength and conditioning alongside their running programmes. We all now see warm up drills and cool down stretches incorporated into the sessions. This person must take a huge amount of credit for instilling this mentality in the club. The numbers of PB’s that many members have enjoyed, is in no small part down to the work that this person has put in behind the scenes.  Numerous events have been championed and led by the person receiving the award tonight. Always vocal in his support for Tyne Bridge Athletes at any event, I would like to announce the Winner of the Tyne Bridge Harriers Member of the Year – Simon Kristiansen
